Kruger does not need to be sold as one rigid package. Spurwing can build around the number of nights you have, whether you want to self-drive or be guided, where you want to stay and how you are getting there. The result can be a complete safari or simply a well-connected set of services.

Kruger Explorer
- Where: Kruger National Park, via the Panorama Route
- Duration: 3 days / 2 nights
- Stay: Hippo Hollow Country Estate, Hazyview, or similar
- Meals: Breakfast and dinner (lunch on day two at your own cost)
- Safari: Game drives in Kruger National Park in 4×4 safari vehicles: a late-afternoon drive on day one, a full day on day two and a final half day
- Transport: Return road transfers from Johannesburg or Pretoria
- Fees: Kruger National Park conservation fees are not included (per person per day; subject to change)
Tented Timbavati Safari
- Where: Timbavati Private Game Reserve, Greater Kruger
- Duration: 3 days / 2 nights
- Stay: Shindzela Tented Safari Camp
- Meals: Full board: breakfast, lunch and dinner (drinks not included)
- Safari: Twice-daily game drives in the Timbavati, with an optional guided bush walk
- Transport: Johannesburg or Pretoria pickup, by road
- Fees: Conservation fees are not included (as charged by the reserve; subject to change)
Eco Kruger Safari – Umlani Bushcamp
- Where: Timbavati Private Nature Reserve, Greater Kruger
- Duration: 3 days / 2 nights
- Stay: Umlani Bush Camp
- Meals: Full board, with local beverages
- Safari: Twice-daily game drives in the Timbavati, with optional bush walks
- Transport: Return road transfers

National park, private reserve or both?
A national-park stay gives access to Kruger’s scale and works brilliantly for self-drive and guided-drive combinations. A private reserve places more of the experience around the lodge and guided safari. Combining them creates two different perspectives on the same wider wildlife region.

We can connect your safari with Johannesburg or O.R. Tambo International Airport by private road transfer and arrange lodge-to-lodge movements where the itinerary requires them.
Accommodation that fits the trip
Rather than treating every lodge as interchangeable, we consider location, safari style, room requirements and price level. Accommodation should support the itinerary, not simply look good in photographs.

Planning a Kruger safari from Johannesburg
Can I do a Kruger safari in three days from Johannesburg?
Yes. The 3-day Kruger Explorer runs three days and two nights from Johannesburg or Pretoria: the Panorama Route and a late-afternoon game drive on day one, a full day in Kruger National Park in a 4×4 safari vehicle on day two, and a final half-day drive on day three before the road back to Johannesburg. Both nights are at Hippo Hollow Country Estate in Hazyview or similar.
Is there a three-day private-reserve option?
Two three-day, two-night packages stay in the Timbavati Private Game Reserve, part of Greater Kruger: the Tented Timbavati Safari at Shindzela and the Eco Kruger Safari at Umlani Bushcamp. Current from-prices are shown on each package.
Kruger National Park or Greater Kruger?
Kruger National Park is the public park, with rest camps and self-drive or guided options. The Greater Kruger reserves are private, lodge-based and fully guided. Our Greater Kruger guide and Kruger National Park guide compare the two.
How long is the drive from Johannesburg?
By road, the Kruger Park southern camps are about 4–5 hours (about 450 km) from Johannesburg; the central camps, the Sabi Sand reserves and Hoedspruit or the Timbavati are about 5–6 hours. See Johannesburg to Kruger transfers.
What is not included?
Conservation fees are not included in the package prices: on the Kruger Explorer, Kruger National Park conservation fees, payable per person per day; on the two Timbavati packages, the conservation fees charged by the reserve. Both are subject to change. On the Kruger Explorer, lunch on day two is also at your own cost.
