The journey

Two days in the park, one on the escarpment

The Kruger National Park is almost two million hectares and no two days in it are the same. This scheduled small-group tour gives you an afternoon drive on arrival, a dawn open-vehicle safari with a ranger and a packed breakfast, and a second afternoon in the park — with the option of further open-vehicle drives at your own cost. The third day is the Panorama Route: God's Window, the Three Rondavels above the Blyde River Canyon, Bourke's Luck Potholes and the old gold-mining village of Graskop.

Three nights are spent at Hippo Hollow Country Estate in Hazyview, or similar. The tour returns to OR Tambo International Airport at about 14h30 on the last day.

Scheduled small-group departure (minimum 2, maximum 10 guests). Accommodation is as named or a similar standard; the exact hotel is confirmed at booking. Two to ten guests travel in a 13-seater vehicle.

Johannesburg – Kruger National Park (Tuesday)

Kruger National Park (Wednesday)

Early coffee, then an open-vehicle game drive with a ranger and a packed breakfast, in search of the Big Five and the park's birdlife. Optional at your own cost: a presentation on the park's anti-poaching dog unit. Lunch at the hotel (own account) and a rest, then a second afternoon of game viewing in the park. Mpumalanga – the Panorama Route (Thursday)
