Lodge-to-Lodge Safari Transfers
Combining safari lodges can create an excellent itinerary, but the transfer between them is often the least glamorous and most underestimated part of the plan. Greater Kruger, Kruger National Park, Madikwe and other safari areas are not compact resort precincts.

Planning the connection
Check the real route
Two lodges that appear close geographically may use different access roads or sit on opposite sides of a reserve system. Plan against the actual properties, not only the region name.
- Private road transfers
- A private vehicle gives a defined collection time and direct coordination between properties. It is useful when public transport or scheduled shuttles do not fit the itinerary.
- Build in realistic departure times
- Morning game drives, breakfast and lodge check-out can all affect when the transfer can start. The receiving lodge may also have preferred arrival windows.
- Do not combine lodges just to combine lodges
- A second property should add something meaningful — a different reserve, safari style or geography — rather than creating movement for its own sake.
Before the accommodation is confirmed
Let the connection shape the itinerary
Spurwing can help determine whether a lodge combination works before the accommodation is confirmed, avoiding an expensive transfer problem after everything else is booked.
