Kruger National Park and the private reserves of Greater Kruger can deliver exceptional safaris, but they are not interchangeable. Kruger gives you scale, independence and a classic national-park experience. A private reserve generally gives you a more lodge-led, guided safari. Many travellers are happiest combining the two.
