International Group Travel in South Africa
International group travel works best when the transport, accommodation, activities and timings are managed as one operation. Spurwing supports organisers, schools, tour operators and specialist groups travelling through South Africa with practical local coordination on the ground.

TRAVEL SERVICES
Built around the programme
Group itineraries often involve fixed flights, multiple hotels, activity start times, luggage movements and long-distance travel. We plan the transport and logistics around the programme rather than forcing the programme into a standard sightseeing format.
TRAVEL SERVICES
Arrival and departure logistics
OR Tambo International Airport is a common starting point for group programmes. Spurwing can coordinate airport collections, vehicle allocation and onward travel, including staggered arrivals where required.
TRAVEL SERVICES
Touring, transport and safari sectors
A South African group itinerary may combine Johannesburg, Soweto, cultural touring, safari destinations and wider regional travel. We can support individual sectors or work across the broader programme where a single ground partner is useful.
EDUCATIONAL GROUPS
School, student and educational groups
Educational group travel often combines a fixed academic or activity programme with the same operational demands as a complex leisure itinerary. Airport movements, accommodation, transport, touring and programme changes all need to work around the needs of the students and leaders.
Leaders need to know who is collecting the group, where they are going and what changes affect the programme. Direct operational communication helps resolve issues quickly without forcing every small adjustment through multiple layers.

What Spurwing can provide
Support can include airport logistics, vehicles, guides, touring, safari movements and broader transport coordination, depending on the programme and partner requirements.
The same operation can support premium private transfers, day touring, safari connections, medium-sized groups and coordinated multi-vehicle programmes.
Tour operators and agents arranging groups can also work with us through Travel Trade.
TRAVEL SERVICES
Clear operational communication
Group travel inevitably changes. Flight times move, passenger numbers shift and programmes are adjusted. Our focus is on clear communication and practical solutions so those changes can be absorbed without losing control of the operation.
See our Group Travel and Group Transport pages, or send us your dates, estimated passenger numbers and draft itinerary.
PLANNING A GROUP
Questions group organisers ask
What do you need from us to plan and quote a group?
Your dates, estimated passenger numbers, arrival and departure points and a draft itinerary, even if it is still changing. Rooming, luggage, meals and activity timings are brought together as the programme is confirmed. Send us your group details.
What vehicles are used for group movements?
Our own touring fleet includes Toyota Quantums, VW Crafters and Mercedes-Benz Sprinters, and larger programmes draw on an established vehicle network. Vehicles are allocated around passenger numbers, luggage, route and timing; see our fleet and group transport.
Can a programme include educational and cultural visits?
Yes. Our published Johannesburg day tours show the kind of visits a programme can include: Soweto, the Apartheid Museum, the Cradle of Humankind at Maropeng and Sterkfontein, Pretoria and the Lesedi Cultural Village, alongside safari sectors.
Do you work with schools directly or through tour operators?
Both. Spurwing is a Johannesburg-based inbound tour operator and ground handler, operating since 1996 and a SATSA member (No. 3271). We work directly with organisers, schools and specialist groups, and with tour operators and agents as their South African ground partner through Travel Trade and group ground handling.
