Botswana, planned as part of a wider Southern Africa journey.
We arrange Botswana as a tailor-made, quote-led part of a longer Southern Africa itinerary, usually alongside time in South Africa. Every trip is priced on request for your dates, once we know who is travelling and what you want from the safari.
How Botswana works
Botswana’s safari areas are spread out and mostly reached by road from Kasane or by light aircraft from Maun or Kasane, so the shape of the trip matters as much as the lodges. Most travellers choose one or two areas rather than trying to see the whole country. Northern Botswana is a malaria area, so take medical advice before you travel.

Chobe and Kasane
Chobe is the most accessible part of northern Botswana. Kasane is the gateway town, with an international airport, and the Chobe River is the focus: game drives in Chobe National Park are paired with boat safaris on the river and its floodplains. It works for shorter stays of two to four nights.

The Okavango Delta, Moremi and Khwai
The Okavango is an inland delta whose flood usually peaks in the middle of the year, during the dry season. Camps here combine game drives with water activities such as mokoro trips where water levels allow. Moremi Game Reserve covers part of the delta, and the Khwai area borders it to the north-east. Most camps are reached by light aircraft from Maun, so a delta stay is normally three nights or more.
The Makgadikgadi and the Kalahari
South of the delta, the landscape changes to the salt pans of the Makgadikgadi, the Boteti River and the Kalahari. These areas offer a different experience from the wetlands: wide open pans, desert-adapted wildlife and a strong sense of space. They pair well with a delta stay for travellers who want contrast.
How Botswana fits a wider Southern Africa journey
Scheduled flights connect Johannesburg with Maun and Kasane, so Botswana slots naturally after time in Cape Town, the Winelands or a South African safari. A common shape is South Africa first, then one or two Botswana areas, with the routing, flights between camps and nights in each place set out in a single quote.
