Cape Peninsula Day Tour

Overview

The tour begins with a scenic drive through Sea Point and Camps Bay, offering incredible views of the Twelve Apostles, a part of the Table Mountain range. The journey continues to the picturesque fishing village of Hout Bay, where guests have the option to take a short boat trip to Duiker Island to see the Cape Fur Seals (time permitting, at own cost).

From here, the tour travels along Chapman’s Peak Drive—one of the most dramatic coastal roads in the world—leading to the Cape Point Nature Reserve. The reserve spans over 17,300 acres and is home to various wildlife, including baboons, Cape Mountain zebra, bontebok, eland, and over 250 species of birds.

At Cape Point, witness the dramatic cliffs where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans are said to meet. Experience the powerful winds of the Cape Doctor and enjoy panoramic views of the rugged coastline.

On the return journey, the tour follows the scenic False Bay coastline, stopping at Simon’s Town—home to South Africa’s naval base—and the renowned Boulders Beach, where visitors can observe the colony of African penguins (own account). The tour also passes through the charming Fish Hoek fishing village and the coastal suburb of Muizenberg.

Before heading back to Cape Town, guests will visit the world-famous Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens, known for its stunning indigenous plant life and spectacular mountain backdrop. The journey concludes with a drive past Rhodes Memorial, the University of Cape Town, and Groote Schuur Hospital.
