Day 1, 2 & 3: Garden Route Safari – Amakhala Game Reserve (3 nights)

Your journey kicks off with a short drive to the Amakhala Game Reserve, located in the Greater Addo area. Here, you’ll spend three nights in the heart of the Eastern Cape bushveld, surrounded by iconic African wildlife. From lions and elephants to cheetahs and giraffes, the reserve offers a rich safari experience. Woodbury Lodge, nestled against a cliff above the Bushman’s River Valley, will be your home during this leg of the journey.

Day 4 & 5: Garden Route – Plettenberg Bay (2 nights)

Leaving the safari behind, you’ll head to the coastal paradise of Plettenberg Bay. Along the way, you’ll have the opportunity to explore Tsitsikamma National Park and its captivating landscapes. Lily Pond Country Lodge in Nature’s Valley will be your oasis for two nights, providing easy access to the region’s attractions, including Elephant Sanctuary, Monkeyland, and the pristine Plett beaches. If you’re lucky and visit at the right time, you might witness the majestic Southern Right Whales in the bay.

Day 6: Garden Route – Oudtshoorn (1 night)

Next, you’ll venture inland to Oudtshoorn, renowned as the ostrich capital of South Africa. In this intriguing town, you’ll encounter these tall and fast-running birds and explore the fascinating Cango Caves. Your accommodations at De Denne Guest House, a working ostrich and alfalfa farm, offer a unique experience. Don’t forget to indulge in some stargazing while you’re in this ecological hotspot.

Day 7 & 8: Cape Winelands (2 nights)

Prepare for a scenic drive through the longest Wine Route in the world, Route 62, which traverses the charming towns of the Klein Karoo. Your destination is Stellenbosch, the second oldest town in South Africa. Evergreen Manor will be your base for two nights as you explore the town’s rich culinary scene and award-winning wine estates. Stellenbosch is celebrated as one of the world’s top New World food and wine hubs.

Day 9, 10 & 11: Cape Town (3 nights)

Your journey concludes with a picturesque drive to Cape Town via the Cape Peninsula. Along the way, you’ll have the opportunity to visit Boulders Beach and observe its resident penguin colony. Other attractions include the Cape of Good Hope and a scenic drive over Chapmans Peak to Hout Bay. In Cape Town, you’ll be accommodated at The Three Boutique Hotel, an 18th-century historic building in the central suburb of Oranjezicht. Explore the city’s iconic landmarks, including the V&A Waterfront, Robben Island, Table Mountain, and more.

Day 12: Cape Town (Departure / End of Tour)

As your 12-day adventure comes to an end, you’ll drive to Cape Town International Airport to return your vehicle and check in for your flight home. Reflect on the incredible experiences, from thrilling safaris to coastal wonders and wine country delights, that have made this journey truly memorable.
