Riverside Tented Safari
Lions Rock Rapids is situated on the banks of the iconic Sabie River. The camp offers guests a central base from which to explore this beautiful destination at leisure. Whilst spending time at the camp, guests are encouraged to enjoy the prolific birdlife where guests are welcome to partake in a brief hike on the grounds, or simply sit with a chilled chardonnay on the banks of the Sabie River, taking in all that nature has to offer.
An incredible 3 Star Luxury Tented Lodge Tour to Kruger National Park in South Africa. The Kruger Explorer Safari travels from Johannesburg to Kruger National Park via the Panorama Route highlights of God’s Window, Lisbon Falls and Graskop.
After settling in at the comfortable lodge we embark on an afternoon or evening game drive in Kruger. Spend a full day game viewing in open 4×4 safari vehicles on day two, hopefully sighting the Big Five, amongst numerous other wild animals and birds in the vast Kruger Park. Take a final game drive on the third morning, before returning to Johannesburg where this action-packed Kruger Explorer Safari ends.
Itinerary
Day
1:
Our
professional Driver/Guide will pick you up in Johannesburg in an
air-conditioned vehicle and transfer you via the scenic Panorama Route to
Kruger Park. En-route we will visit Pilgrim’s Rest, God’s Window and the
Graskop Falls.
We will arrive at Lions Rock Rapids (or similar) in the afternoon where you will have time to check-in and freshen up before we depart on a game drive in the Kruger National Park.
You will depart on either an afternoon game drive or a sunset game drive (where you will get your first experience on an open 4X4 Safari vehicle.) The late afternoon offers the lower light game viewing with most animals heading down to the watering holes and offers excellent game viewing opportunities. (please note the sunset drive is subject to availability)

Day
2:
Your
Professional Field guide will advise you off your pick-up time for this
morning. You will be picked up from your
lodge early in the morning on your full day game drive in an Open 4X4 Safari
Vehicle.
We will enter Kruger National Park and enjoy a full day game drive on this day. We will stop several times during the day for you to freshen up and to stretch your legs. Your Professional Field Guide will ensure that you see the wildlife Kruger Park is renowned for and give you interesting facts and information on all aspects of the African Bush and Wildlife. (With a bit of luck, you will be able to add the Big Five to your “spotting-list”) We will enjoy breakfast at one of the Kruger Park Camps (packed by the lodge). We will also visit the Skukuza Main Camp of the Kruger Park.
We
will return in the afternoon to your Lodge where the rest of the evening will
be at leisure. Dinner can be enjoyed at the Lodge.

3:
We
will once again collect you for an early morning game drive to try and find the
illusive animals that you might have missed on your previous drives.
After
your Early Morning Game Drive, we will return to the lodge. Once you have checked out your professional
Driver/Guide will be waiting to transfer you back to Johannesburg in a luxury
air-conditioned vehicle.

Lions Rock Rapids
Lions Rock Rapids is situated on the banks of the iconic Sabie River, a brief 10 minute drive from the nearby town of Hazyview in Mpumalanga – approximate 4,5hrs drive from Johannesburg. The camp offers guests a central base from which to explore this beautiful destination at leisure. Whilst spending time at the camp, guests are encouraged to enjoy the prolific birdlife where guests are welcome to partake in a brief hike on the grounds, or simply sit with a chilled chardonnay on the banks of the Sabie River, taking in all that nature has to offer.
Nearby attractions / activities can include day trips into the Kruger National Park – Phabeni gate being the closest at an approximate 20 minute drive from the camp, restaurants in and around Hazyview, quad biking, river rafting, hot air ballooning, Cultural Village, Panorama Route, and much more. Guests are also welcome to take part in a 30 minute tour of the macadamia plantation on the property at a minimal surcharge.
Accommodation is in the form of 21 luxury tents, accommodating up to 42 guests. All tents feature an en-suite bathroom, tea / coffee making facility, mini-safe, air cons and covered patio overlooking the Sabie River.
Central guest facilities include a reception, dining area, lounge & bar, and open air BOMA on the banks of the Sabie River.
