8 Day Safari Program

Day 1
The tour starts upon arrival at Kasane Airport in Botswana. You are met by your guide and transferred to the Chobe Safari Lodge and have some time to refresh and relax before we embark on a sunset boat cruise on the famed Chobe River. The boat ventures into the Chobe Game Park along the river where large numbers of animals come down to the river. The Park is famous for the large numbers of Elephant, Buffalo and many other species that congregate these areas. We arrive back at the lodge and have a fabulous buffet dinner at the restaurant before retiring to our rooms. (Dinner included)

Day 2
We depart early on a 4X4 safari vehicle into the Chobe National Park for our morning game drive. This is the best way to explore the vast terrain that forms part of this incredible preservation area and we have a very good opportunity to spot some of the “Big 5”. We arrive back at the Lodge in time for a hearty breakfast. We relax around the pool overlooking the Chobe River and in the afternoon you have the option to go on a sunset boat cruise or a game drive into Chobe to watch the sun set. We return to the lodge and enjoy dinner at the restaurant before we retire to our rooms. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner included)

Day 3
After a leisurely start we have breakfast and then depart to the local airport for our short flight to Maun. This spectacular flight crosses the Okavango Delta and upon landing we are transferred to our lodge on the banks of the Thamalakane River. The Okavango Delta is the world’s largest inland delta and is formed by the Okavango River that empties itself in the Kalahari Desert. We relax at the lodge in the late afternoon before we have dinner at the lodge and retire for the evening. (Breakfast and dinner included)

Day 4
After an early breakfast we embark on an epic excursion into the Delta on traditional Makoro dugout boats. This is one of the highlights of a safari in Botswana and is the perfect opportunity to get up close to the boundless riches of African game in the Delta. With your own personal guide in each Makoro you can enjoy a leisurely day soaking in the sunlight and rejuvenating your soul. After an eventful day we arrive back at the lodge in the late afternoon in time to freshen up for dinner overlooking the river. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner included)

Day 5
We depart after breakfast and head south-east to the Botswana-Namibia border. We cross over the border into Namibia and reach our next destination, a Bushmen village on a private game reserve. For the next 2 days we will live in the small village with its 23 inhabitants and experience the culture that is thousands of years old. The Bushmen traditions are slowly disappearing yet they have unbelievable knowledge about the bush and the animals that they have passed on over hundreds of generations. In the afternoon we join them on a bushwalk where they show us how they survive the harsh conditions of the Kalahari Desert. In the evening we sit around the open fire and share in the singing and dancing and enjoy a barbeque buffet. (Breakfast and dinner included)

Day 6
We spend the day with the Bushmen and learn about their traditions and culture. Activities on this day include a game walk, shooting a bow and arrow, learning how to track wild animals and collecting wild fruits. We also spend time with the children of the village and share in their amazing art of story-telling. In the afternoon we go on a game walk with the bushmen and have a good opprtunity to spot some of the animals on this private reserve. All meals are enjoyed at the village and in the evening we sit around the fire and share in the lives of these fascinating people. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner included)

Day 7
We depart after breakfast and drive east to the world renowned N/a’an ku sê (Pronounced Naankuse) Lodge near Windhoek. The lodge forms part of a wildlife sanctuary that was partly funded by Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. The sanctuary is home to a carnivore research project and you have the opportunity to interact with animals such as leopard and cheetah. We take time to learn more about these magnificent species as we spend the day discovering the projects at this sanctuary. We have a farewell dinner at the lodge under the African Sky. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner included)

Day 8
After a leisurely start we have breakfast at the lodge and thereafter depart for a short drive to the Windhoek International Airport where the tour ends. (Breakfast included)
